Leanroll is an app for iPhone, iPad and Mac that helps you clean up your Photos library. It is made by MB Studio, Rambla de Prat 14, 2, 2, 08012 Barcelona, Spain ("we"). MB Studio is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@leanroll.com.
To find duplicates, similar shots, screenshots and large files, Leanroll reads your Photos library with the permission you grant in iOS or macOS. All of this runs on your device:
Nothing is deleted from your library until you confirm it in Ready to Remove. Deleted items go to Photos' Recently Deleted album, where Apple keeps them for 30 days.
When "Sync with iCloud" is on, Leanroll keeps your devices in step through your private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit). It syncs what you did, not your photos: review decisions, items you've already cleaned up, items marked Not Junk, the text of your Screenshot Notes, and scan results so other devices can skip most of their first scan.
This data lives in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it. You can turn sync off at any time in Leanroll's Settings.
Leanroll can use Google's Gemini to tag photos, suggest which shot to keep, and title and summarize Screenshot Notes. These features are off until you turn them on and enter your own Gemini API key, which is stored in your device's Keychain.
When they're on, Leanroll sends to Google only what each request needs:
These requests go directly from your device to Google, never through us. Google handles them under the Gemini API Terms and its Privacy Policy. Those terms treat free and paid API keys differently: on a free key, Google may use what you send to improve its products. Read them before you turn AI on, and use a paid key if that matters to you.
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. Apple tells the app only whether you have an active purchase.
leanroll.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
If you join the launch list, we store your email address, the time you signed up, the country Cloudflare reports for your connection, and the page you came from. We don't store your IP address. We use the address only to email you about the launch and major Leanroll news, such as big new features. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it by writing to hello@leanroll.com.
If you live in the EU, UK or another place with data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. For the launch list, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Leanroll is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how your data is used in a meaningful way, we'll say so in the app's release notes.
